Reservation changes/cancellations made by the customer

When a reservation is cancelled by the customer, a cancellation fee will be charged in accordance with the terms listed below. In the case of a refund, please note that the cancellation fee will be deducted from the travel fee in advance, but the travel business handling fee will not be refunded despite the cancellation. Furthermore, please be aware in advance that any transfer fees incurred will be borne by the customer.

1. 1 We ask the customer to please inform us about their cancellation via E-mail (E-mail should be sent to the designated E-mail address). Cancellation notifications will not be accepted by a communication method other than E-mail, such as by telephone or fax (We will inform you of our designated E-mail address upon booking completion).
2. 2 The "starting point” which serves as the basis of the cancellation fee calculation is set as 9 am (Japanese Standard Time) of the day of the location rental.
3. 3 The cancellation fee is set in stages according to the time difference between the time when the E-mail from the customer indicating cancellation arrives at our designated E-mail address and the "starting point" (both times based on Japanese Standard Time).
4. 4 When a cancellation E-mail from a customer arrives at our designated E-mail address within 48 hours before the “starting point,” 100% of the travel fee will be kept by our company as a cancellation fee and cannot be refunded to the customer.
5. 5 When a cancellation E-mail from a customer arrives at our designated E-mail address between 48 hours and 168 hours before the “starting point,” 50% of the travel fee will be deducted as a cancellation fee with the remainder refunded to the customer.
6. 6 When a cancellation E-mail from a customer arrives at our designated E-mail address more than 168 hours before the “starting point,” we will refund the full amount of the travel fee.
7. 7 Cancellation charges will be incurred according to the above conditions pertaining to when a customer cancels a reservation since reservation changes other than increasing the number of people in the party, content, or cooking upgrades will be treated as cancellations. Please cancel once and request another reservation.

Reservation changes/cancellations based on temple or shrine related situations

The temples and shrines provided as rental locations by Shajiraku are not facilities specialized for sightseeing. Temple and shrines that have been booked due to unavoidable circumstances, such as rare and sudden events, cannot be used. Therefore, there may be times when we will ask you to change reservation content. In such cases, Shajiraku will arrange for an alternative temple or shrine location. However, the reservation will be cancelled when an alternative location cannot be secured. In addition, for cancellations of reservations due to the circumstances related to temples/shrine, we will refund both the travel business handling fee and travel fee in full.
If you accepted changes to the reservation which results in a difference in price, you will either be provided with a refund for the difference or need to pay an additional fee.

Reservation changes/cancellations made by a host (experience provider)

There may be times when we will ask you to change reservation content due to conditions related to a host. In that case, Shajiraku will arrange for an alternative experience while asking the customer what would be favorable for them. However, the reservation will be cancelled if a desired substitute experience cannot be provided. Our company will refund both the travel business handling fee and travel fee in full when cancelling a reservation due to circumstances related to a host. However, if a difference in price occurs due to a reservation related change, you will either be provided with a refund for the difference or need to pay an additional fee.
